Magazine name ideas
- Flicks
This name links to cinema and film, so would appeal to the target audience, film fans, and it informs people what the content of the magazine is so they know whether they want to purchase it. It is a short, one word title, which makes it catchy and easy to remember and would fit easily in large, bold font across the top of a magazine cover. However it could be argued that it is an old word, no longer used, so not relevant and may not appeal to a younger audience.
- The Big Screen
I like this title because it straight away informs the audience of the content in the magazine, attracting the target audience and persuading them to purchase the magazine. It also sounds new and exclusive because it is related to cinema which shows new and exclusive films. However it is quite a long name for a magazine that may not be able to fit across a magazine cover in a big and bold font.

Fonts
- The first font is very relevant to film, so informs the audience about the content of the magazine, making it stand out to the target audience and encourage them to purchase the magazine. It is also big and bold, so would be eye-catching on a shop shelf.
- The second font is much more simple, which could add to the effectiveness, but may be more appropriate as a font for cover lines and smaller text as it is condensed, so would have to be extremely large to cover the top of a magazine cover, meaning it could take over too much of the main image.
- The third font is also very simple and effective and would fit well across the top of a magazine cover. However it does not link to the theme of the magazine, so may not help attract the target audience.
- Therefore I have decided to use the first font, 'Broadway' for the title of my magazine and the second font 'Bernard MT Condensed' for the cover lines.

Slogan
Final Magazine Cover
I experimented with the background colour on my magazine by trying blue but felt the use of red and pale pink together was much more effective due to the similarity in the colours working to bring out and define each other. Therefore I also decided to use a slightly brighter shade of pink to emphasise this point. I then played around with the layout at the bottom of the page: I choose to make the word 'Free' bigger so that it stands out more and put the image of the poster in-between the text, rather than at the bottom of the page so that it fits in better with the aesthetic, creating a sense of continuity.
